The Rainbow Tunnel of Tel Aviv

A visit to Isreal may now include explicit stops at the open underground tunnels of Tel Aviv, where artists Bar & Shay have been hard at work installing colourful lights to the once dull underpasses. The new makeovers brighten up an otherwise unmemorable experience, and have already received acclaim as a great street intervention project.

20 Masterpieces of Green Graffiti

Artists create unique street art from plant material that’s been cut, shaped and attached to various sites, introducing splashes of green to urban landscapes. Other artists grow their moss from scratch, creating a glue-like paste which is the painted on their chosen surface before dutifully tending the mini-ecosystem, watering, feeding, encouraging it to breathe life anew.

Wow…Check Out this Rack! [pics]

Talented musician, installation artist and photographer, David Byrne – of Talking Heads fame – has long been a champion of environmentally-friendly ideas. Most recently he was asked to judge a design competition that would see a range of new bike racks designed specifically for New York City. A keen cyclist himself, Byrne was so taken by the idea that he submitted a few creations of his own.
