The Oldest Lunar Calendars and Earliest Constellations have been identified in cave art found in France and Germany. The astronomer-priests of these late Upper Paleolithic Cultures understood mathematical sets, and the interplay between the moon annual cycle, ecliptic, solstice and seasonal changes on earth. By looking into the past some 32,000 B.C., we gain an idea of how our ancestors first made sense of the heavens.

The Mystery Behind the Deliberate Burial of Three Ancient Megalithic Stone Circles

A few years ago, an awesome archeological discovery was made in southern Turkey, just north of the border with Syria. Three megalithic stone circles that were deliberately buried thousands of years ago on a hilltop were located at Göbekli Tepe. What is astounding is the date and context. These megalithic stone circles are several thousand years older than the first stone circle built at Stonehenge, and they were built by a hunter-gatherer society.

12,000 Year Old Woman Found in Israel

Archeologists discovered the skeleton of a 12,000 year old, female shaman who belonged to the Near East Natufian Culture of 15,000 to 11,500 BCE. Grave offerings included 50 complete tortoise shells, a leopard's pelvis, the wing tip of a golden eagle, tail of a cow, two marten skulls and a human foot. All of these animals are rare in Natufian graves and the assemblage is highly unusual.
