The photographer who took these shots could tell you where the pictures were taken, but then she’d have to kill you. She’s been sworn to secrecy by the person who discovered the painter of these mind-blowing pieces – some of whose faces you might recognise. There is code of silence – and a code of honour – in the esoteric subculture of graffiti-spotting. Why? Well, for one thing it’s about respect.

Missiles may rain down overhead, water canons blast people back, tear gas choke throats and worse, but when people decide they’ve had enough, they’ve had enough. Many would argue that if ever there was proof that actions speak louder than words, mass protesting is it. Images of individuals taking to the streets have become etched in our minds, each one a remembrance of how people felt about the status quo.

An astonishing new set of images depicts what life might be like in the capital after the flood comes, but could this apocalyptic event bring a touch of natural beauty to the urban canvas? The Thames barrier bursts and great tides wash over London, submerging much of the city as we know it beneath the murky depths. A layer of thick vegetation covers everything above water level; boats navigate their way above the once bustling streets; people dive into the vast pool of St. Paul's cathedral and Canary Wharf becomes a popular fishing spot.
