The Newspaper House is participatory art, community project and a statement on the environment all rolled up in one – literally! With the most recent incarnation boasting walls, floors and shingles of thousands upon thousands of rolled up old newspapers, Sumer Erek’s installation is a thought-provoking take on the place we call home.

You’d be forgiven in thinking that these trees have been pummeled and almost uprooted as hurricane season is upon us but, believe it or not, they’re actually meant to look like that. Created by the same guys who brought us the Blur Building, Diller, Scofidio and Renfro, the trees form part of an installation at this year’s biennial arts festival in Liverpool, UK.
