Inspired by one of the most misunderstood animals of the marine world – the graceful jellyfish, leading electronics company, Festo have designed and created a pneumatic version of the gelatinous creature that moves remarkably like the real thing. There have been a number of other versions floating about over the past few years but none that have caught our attention as much as this mechanical offering.

It’s not often you have the chance to view insects up close, they usually fly, jump or scurry away – either that or they get swatted, squashed or stamped on. So when we came across these unbelievable images of insects we just had to share them with you. These photographs by German photographer Martin Amm are taken in macro, highlighting the wonderful color and detail we very rarely see in our creepy crawly friends.

The Thames barrier bursts and great tides wash over London, submerging much of the city as we know it beneath the murky depths. A layer of thick vegetation covers everything above water level; boats navigate their way above the once bustling streets; people dive into the vast pool of St. Paul's cathedral and Canary Wharf becomes a popular fishing spot.

Cute Baby Panda Adopted By Cat In Dutch Zoo

A baby panda rejected by its mother has been adopted by a domestic cat and is being raised along with its litter. The panda and another sibling were initially accepted by their mother but were found to have been abandoned a day later, suffering from hypothermia. Zookeepers at the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam successfully encouraged a cat that had just given birth to suckle the pair - however one of the pandas unfortunately did not survive.
