I'd really like to see electrical pylons (towers) replaced by sculptures. Off the top of my head I can think of sports mascots, cartoon characters, knights, samurai, ninjas (for wireless power only since the cables would give them away), national heroes, figures from folklore and myth (Paul Bunyan, Johnny Appleseed, John Henry, Tecumseh, Bigfoot(!), Zeus, Loch Ness Monster).

I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones I'd really like to see.

I'm not sure how anyone thinks these are any less unsightly than the average gigantic power line in your backyard. They are still giant and grotesque, and from whatever vantage point within line of sight, they'll still stick out like the big sore thumb that they are.

And no matter how aesthetic they may (one day) become, they still radiate their glorious electromagnetic aura.

Would you like to have one in your back yard?

Kind of nice, but you know what would really be smart? Incorporating a simple wind turbine design into each one.
