Please get your facts strait, Palau’s local fishermen have not been using dynamite since the 1980’s. Your author must be mistaken Palau with the Philippines where dynamite fishing is a very common practice. I would say today’s biggest problem with the environment in Palau is the Taiwan & Chinese Longliners who continually target shark fins, although it is illegal, they off load their tuna catch offshore to avoid taxes and pollute like no other!

If it’s indeed the case that dynamite fishing hasn’t been around for 20 years or so I’m ecstatic. While I have to highlight environmental problems for each country, I’d prefer if all the countries were perfect.
