Offbeat News

Two Bulgarian teenagers were rescued from a circus in Italy after one of them was forced to swim in a tank full of piranhas for public amusement this week.

Personally, I can’t think of many things I’d rather see than a 19-year-old with the potential to be picked to the bone by fish, but the Italian police are obviously killjoys, and not nearly as much fun at parties as I am.

The girl emerged safely from her ordeal, but the younger of the two sisters, who was 16, was bitten when the circus placed her in a cage and threw snakes at her. Three Italian men were arrested in the case, and have been charged with forcing the girls to live as virtual slaves– paying them 100 euros each week and forcing them to live in an animal transport trailer.
