My b/f and I live in PA. He was thrown in jail for a week and a half because he didn't have bail money. He wasn't given the stuff listed either. The nurse kept telling him, that he couldn't have it, because it wasn't his religion. He never even said it was or wasn't. I kept calling over and over saying he needs a vegetarian diet. He was crying that he was starving over the phone. He was already sick because he was withdrawling from medications he was given for bi-poler disorder They wouldn't get him his meds either. The prison systems are horrible. At least PETA is helping them in one way. ACLU is another good organization.

umm sorry no..

I just got out of prison in kansas and i can tell you the options are far form what is listed here. sure if you look at what is supposed to be on the menu, these items are listed. however what is actually served is never close to what is served. they list all this stuff so the higher ups think that everything is going as stated, the truth is that most prisons are fairly corrupt at the base level. most things (ie food, recreation, jobs, etc.) are in actuality not really the way that they are portrayed
