A widget is an interactive object that functions on third party sites. You can get the code and paste it on your myspace, friendster, xanga, google homepage and keep track of this blog really easily.

Google etc can then monitor your every move, every search you make, every site you go to. Hmmm I think I will leave this off my site, hate a central Big Brother database to know excatly what I’m doing, preferences etc on the internet. For more information see article in Sat 25/5 D Telegraph re this subject.

Bristow - Have looked at the article and I am afraid that you are missing the point. All a widget does is display content from this blog site to a third party location. It does not contain any personal information about you.
Also, Google is far more likely to index your site and keep tabs on you that way, than by you displaying a simple widget on their homepage.
