Wow who came up with that idea? What exact vacuum cleaner do you have to use to make it work I wonder? Good invention although I seriously doubt the military is going to call you guys to order 100s of those things.

Environmental Graffiti...

Nice post at leading UK environment blog Environmental Graffiti about our Vacuum Bazooka film, complete with amusingly tenuous link to low pressure weather systems. Come on, folks, you’re just having fun knocking over plant pots, right? Meanwhile...

Thanks for linking to SciCast with this - delighted you managed to make sense of one of the very first films we made! It's only fair to point out that I first came across the vacuum bazooka in a terrific book by Neil Downie.

We recently held our first SciCast Awards event, and are running straight in to the second year of the project - which, for the uninitiated, is people making short films about practical science, and sharing them as an education resource and for entertainment. We're trying to fill the space abandoned by children's television.

Surprisingly, the first year saw no films with an environmental slant. Not one. Which feels like a hole that should be filled, no?
