An internet gaming company has launched Casino Del Rio, which it describes as the world’s first ecologically friendly online casino.

The casino, developed by online gambling firm PlayTech, has begun a number of initiatives to reduce their eco-footprint. Their final aim is to reach 100% carbon neutral status.

The casino headquarters have undergone renovations to reduce energy use and waste and have implemented a large-scale recycling program.

The company has also pledged to plant a tree for every new player that registers with the site. The site has formed a partnership with environmental organization New Green Group, which helps facilitate actions for businesses attempting to become more ecologically friendly.

While Environmental Graffiti does not condone gambling, we hope that other companies in this multi-billion dollar industry take heart and also begin to use some of their massive income to improve the state of our world.
