Hey, I first went to China (to work) in 1985, at at the welcoming banquet for new teachers, one of the dishes was exactly this. Cautioned before leaving the US courtesy called for me to take at least a wee bite of every dish, I braved it -- and fell in love with it right off. And I grew up in steak-and-potato country -- on a ranch in Texas! Been living in Asia virtually ever since (now in Thailand), and eat them regularly.
