Environmental Graffiti Will be Changing Dramatically Soon. Get a Sneak Preview By Signing Up Here.
In the rural Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, 50km north east of New Delhi, a woman gave birth to a baby girl with two faces and four eyes.

The 4 day old is being hailed by villagers as the reincarnation of Ganesha – a Hindu God, who is depicted as having an elephant’s head and is patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom

Her birth was welcomed with friendly cheers, claps and offerings. Her parents, who have yet to name her have said that she is a “miracle” and “a gift from god.”

Doctors do not know whether she will be able to eat normally yet. At the moment she is being hand-fed.

If the baby girl had been born over here, she’d be considered a freak. However what I think is incredible is that her difference has been celebrated and she will grow up feeling special rather than a freak of nature.

If she had been born here she would go to a surgery by now.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:20 am
do you remenber that girl who born with 4 arms?? and now a girl with two faces?? both are from india…coincidence maybe or maybe not…
March 20th, 2008 at 1:38 am
Two faces, one body, one soul! This baby is God’s child no matter what. I believe the conception started out as twins in the womb but somehow fused together. Either way, what a beautiful blessing. Good luck and God bless. From the United States.

A God?!??? HAHAHAHHA pleaseeeeee… sure she is one of God’s children, but a God? lol thats the most rediculous thing ive ever heard…its just a freak of nature that this happened…what stupid people that live in some of these 3rd world countries…a God…hahah
March 23rd, 2008 at 3:11 am
I have not heard any updates on this baby since her birth…I am very curious as to how functional each face is, and her chances of survival. Does she have just one esophagus? Does she eat with both mouths? We’re condemned as being morbid if we’re curious about these deformities, just someone who wants to ogle a “freak” of nature, but really it’s just a normal curiosity about the workings of the human body, and the extent to which a human can adapt to their differences. I wish her a happy and healthy life!
March 23rd, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Surgery for what? What on earth do you think could possibly be done at this time for this problem?
March 23rd, 2008 at 2:41 pm
You’re icky.
March 23rd, 2008 at 3:06 pm
First of all, surgery is not an option for this little girl, she only has 1 set of organs! And Dave, people have every right to believe in what they want, if they believe she is a god, then that is wonderful. Just b/c you’re too ignorant and close minded to accept another culture’s beliefs, doesnt make you any smarter then they are. I wish this child, her CULTURE, and her family all the best…
March 23rd, 2008 at 3:28 pm
What a beautiful little girl, or should I say little girls.
I am so thankful she was born in India where she will be thought of as special (because she/they are) and treated with respect.
how unfortunate that our own American culture cannot see the value in uniqueness.
March 23rd, 2008 at 4:32 pm
I’m guessing it is coincidence. In that culture, such babies are revered as reincarnations of dieties. In our culture, such babies are usually aborted when an ultrasound shows a severe birth defect. We don’t often see the live births, but it doesn’t mean we don’t have this issue.
March 23rd, 2008 at 10:33 pm
you’re an idiot.
March 24th, 2008 at 2:32 am
she’s sooo cute…hope she’ll live up to a year coz most kids like her don’t live up to a year or so!…God Bless!
April 1st, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Possibly even triplets – two eyes in the middle look like another face that was not completely formed. But no matter what, God’s plans are not our plans, and this soul is a blessing, no matter what ! ! !

THIS IS CLEARLY AN APRIL FOOL’S JOKE YOU MORONS!
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:54 pm
…wow…an april fool’s joke from the past.
the date is March 16th…who’s a moron?
April 4th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
what the heck are they going to do with her
April 6th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
a shining example of how provincial and limited people’s thinking can be…have you ever thought outside the box?
April 7th, 2008 at 1:38 am
Well I agree with the idiot, she is not a God, because there is only one God. However, she is special, and a beautiful child of God. Sending her my love and prayers.

God?..lol..stupid ignorant villagers. She is just what happens when you live in a polluted, disease ridden country. DNA gets mutated.
April 7th, 2008 at 2:37 am
All I can say is that it is most certainly fascinating … any educatated person knows that that this is just a freak of nature. Mutations happen every day whether or not it’s a person or a frog. (Just think back to your biology class.) I am grateful that my children don’t face what this poor girl does in life. Good luck to this family for what lies ahead.
April 7th, 2008 at 10:44 am
uhh, that looks NOTHING like an elephant’s head. What do you have to smoke to make that look like an elephant’s head? I could probably use some this weekend.
April 7th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
DAVE you are a very unfortunate ignorant person that is not learnt of other cultures. YOU should be forgiven though, because unfortunately the society you live in have you lost. To the fortunate family best wishes to you and Ganesha. The lord has come once again, kaliyug is coming to an end therefore satyug has to come. WELCOME LORD GANESHA.
April 8th, 2008 at 12:16 am
This is one girl, not two or three. Some people seem to be confused as to whether this girl is a siamese twin. if she had started out as two eggs and fused into one she would be a chimera, or a single person who has two sets of DNA. this is not the case here. she has one brain, one set of organs, she might have become twins but the zygote didn’t separate properly.
April 8th, 2008 at 8:27 am
Ok, like 4 people have already attacked Dave for expressing his opinion, f*****g move on. You are the ones being narrow minded because you HAVE to blast him due to not agreeing with his comment. Oh no, someone thinks that the mutated baby might perhaps not be a god. Which sounds more plausible? Mutated baby being a run of the mill Indian mutation…or perhaps an ultimate being sent here to save us from ourselves? Hey, I’ll be the first to say I’m sorry if the kid lives a sinless life and dies for my sins, but c’mon people. I’ve said my peace…someone had to stand beside Dave.
April 8th, 2008 at 11:47 am
Wow. Every culture has their own way of processing the event of “mutations” as some here call them, or divergences from the average. In many cultures that believe in reincarnation they believe that these PEOPLE (yes they really are still people, not just masses of flesh for you to poke and prod and dissect) have been brought into their families’ lives because those people have been specifically chosen to care for that soul, to give that person a safe haven of love and care. Or that perhaps they were sent to them to teach them something. They also tend to believe that the soul is an older soul, someone who has given a lot to the world and who has earned the right to be taken care of and loved. Rather than see people with differences as horrible freaks to be feared, they see them as half way to Nirvana, a sould who could teach you something. I have always thought that to be a very peaceful and loving way of processing that event, rather than the “educated and civilized” way of bemoaning, oh why meeee, what have I done to deserve such a horrible monsterous child?
They may also believe in dieties, reborn in the flesh…hmmm more than half the developed world believes god either was re-born in the flesh as Jesus, or will be born as the messiah some time in the future and no one calls them idiots. Maybe it just helps people to understand the different experiences of their lives, and until we walk the proverbial mile in their shoes, it’s hardly our place to judge them.
It seems awfully bigotted, ignorant, classist, ethnocentric, and down right cruel to poke fun or laugh at the way someone else processes their life experiences. But if it makes you feel superior, rock on with your bad selves.
I think, despite the chemical interference that may or may not have occurred, despite the “freakish” or “frightening” appearence she may have, despite all the troubles she will likely face in her life health-wise and socially, it is beautiful that her village has taken her in as something to be celebrated rather than feared and despised. We could learn something from these so-called Stupid Third World people about acceptance and love and appreciating the uniqueness and the miracle of every life, no matter how different they might be.
April 8th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
AMEN
April 9th, 2008 at 3:02 am
Those indians will worship anything.
April 9th, 2008 at 5:30 am
Dave,i feel sorry for you and your red neck mentality. There must likewise be mutations amongst your people after all that in breeding.
Open your eyes and appreciate the wonders of life as they are.
April 9th, 2008 at 5:34 am
It saddens me how narrow minded people are. This child is a human being and deserves as much respect as you would give any other child. For all the people who are being disrespectful, ignorant, and rude, what right or reason do you have? This little girl has done nothing to you so maybe you should keep your thoughts to yourself if you have nothing nice to say. God Bless this child and I hope the best for her now and in the future.
April 9th, 2008 at 6:50 am
All I have to say is that she is a blessing….also Daves comment proves what a fucken dumass idiot he is!
April 9th, 2008 at 7:34 am
I’m just wondering, are the people thinking about the child’s warefare or just ignoring it through the belief that Ganesha will one day be reborn as one of the most mutated person on earth due to pollution. How will normal people her age when she is growing up react to her? Will she have a normal life or be a freak of nature? Sure this kid might be the most recent “Ganesha” but then another deformed kid will come and she’ll be forgotten. Maybe their scientists should just create a four armed, two legged, elephant faced child that everyone can worship so they can probe the real problem of the deformities. This is like one of those “right to die” cases.
April 9th, 2008 at 7:36 am
Ones child is their flesh and blood, you just love your children no matter how they look and it is great that she is born where she will be loved the most. No knife Just Love. Isn’t that what we all want, even adults !!
She is one lucky child..
April 9th, 2008 at 7:48 am
yOU ARE INDEED A MORON YOURSELF DEAR..IT IS REAL AND YOU ARE BEING A DICKHEAD !!
April 9th, 2008 at 8:43 am
I think that she is beautiful in her own way. Leave her alone. She is a beautiful person.
April 9th, 2008 at 9:53 am
Them both being born in India is a coincidence seeing as how a huge part of the world’s population is in Asia, and therefore India.
April 9th, 2008 at 10:33 am
she is special and i’m glad she’s borned in india.
April 9th, 2008 at 8:23 pm
Inbred Much?
April 9th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
Is she a goddess or what; Im not sure but she is some what special, I guess. But what is up with that big cheek in the middle of her face. It is a little scary.
I dont get why people are giving her money; I want some dag. But thats all for now. You mean people need to get over yourselves and deal with it. What you say, I didnt think so.
April 9th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
hello ,
do you relise that this little girl is going to grow up with people looking at her for the rest of her life if you don’t do something for her now, all this crap about it being an act of god or gods will where will she be when she’s at school being bullied and victimised like the elephant man many years ago, please do something for this poor little girl now
April 9th, 2008 at 10:52 pm
Those INdians! How can you say that.
How dare you say that! an indian would never say those enlgish or those americans. If they wish to worship her and treat her as a god so be it. Max – how dare you call her inbred.Indians dont inbreed. It is a blessing that she has been born in india as no other people will treat her with such love and sincerity. I have been there and and they treated me with nothing but respect. They might be living in a diseased polluted country but no one has te right to mock their way of life. we live in a very narrow minded western society even to this day and i as a white woman would say a chav is more of a mutation than any indian born with two heads. I wish her and her family the best of luck! May god, however god maybe protect her.
April 9th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Wow isnt that something else! two faces! yeah I suspect twins gone wrong. Either way she is still human and still has parents who no doubt love her unconditionally! It’s wonderful her culture has embraced her as a god, see’s such things as blessings and takes the good out of it. I can only imagine the difficulties she would face if she was born into a western culture where such people are looked upon as “freaks”. All the best to the little darling:)
April 10th, 2008 at 12:12 am
I pray for her and her family. Yes, everyone has an opinion, no matter how crazy it sounds. I do agree with the fact that we probably have the same thing happening here, but like the one person mentioned aborting the baby is the remedy here.
Everyone should be able to share their opinion without the name calling. We are all in this together. When one hurts we all hurt. Let’s just pray one for another to make this a better world.
Maybe by expressing our thoughts and listening to one another maybe we will be able to view things in a different light and come out of the box. When we make hurtful comments we are all judging. Who’s right, who’s wrong??? Either way it would still be someone’s opinion over another.
God bless us all with love and peace.
April 10th, 2008 at 1:23 am
hey you used peace wrong its “peice” and if dave was brave enough to insult their culture like that, he shouldn’t need someone to stand up for him.
April 10th, 2008 at 1:24 am
April 10th, 2008 at 1:36 am
You really are a Very evil person and a heartless human being.. whereever you are born, you have no choice, humans like this little girl i should say should be born, but pigs like you should never have been born, as you are waste of space anyway !!!
April 10th, 2008 at 4:45 am
This comment is for anyone who believes that this child is a God .. Your all going to hell face first(God Willing).Anyone who believes that this baby is a reincarnation and prays upon this child is commiting blasphemy. How can anyone believe this .. yes she indeed is speacial , But because God -the creator of all beings made her that way. People like this boggle my mind .. How can someone pray or worship something that cant do anything for itself , this baby shits and eats food for survival just like all humans. Idols worshipers in India are the worst by far .. People I advise you to seek refuge with God , the one true God , and his Messenger (pbuh).
April 10th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
you need to learn about Indian culture. They have a different religion and therefore different beliefs and everyone is entitled to believe what they want. And FYI Jesus was a baby that shit and ate food for survival as well!
April 10th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
it is not thier fault now is it
April 10th, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Someone has to say this. I think she’s two-faced.
Sarah, if you want to bring people to Jesus, you may want to lighten up. Attraction worls better than condemnation. We’re all works in progress.
BTW, You two who are arguing over whether it’s “I’ve said my peace,” or “I’ve said my peice,” – The word is p-i-e-c-e.
Sorry, I’m a spelling and grammar nazi.
God Bless
April 10th, 2008 at 9:18 pm
AMEN!
April 10th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
In this world today, anything is possible, a baby born with two face is no problem, why we have to make comments, it should have happen to anyone of us then we would have the feelings of how the parents feel.
I love that CHILD she look very Pretty i can see between her Face LORD GANESH – I am all the Way from GUYANA – SOUTH AMERICA
April 11th, 2008 at 12:52 am
Grow up. There are no gods. If you’d get an education instead of wrapping yourself in ignorance, you’d see that.
April 11th, 2008 at 4:16 am
You do realize that Jesus once was a baby who nursed to survive and was not born potty trained.
You need to think before you write.
April 11th, 2008 at 4:37 am
no, it’s piece…
April 11th, 2008 at 9:09 am
Well aren’t you the malicious one. Reading might help you, but seeing you already live out of your religion’s context, it most likely will not do a thing. Damning people doesn’t make you holy – not by a long shot. Just go along and worship your god, let them worship their’s, and try not to be so much of a bigot, you prickly pear, you.
April 11th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
shes different and there is nothing wrong with that…she is nor god itself or gods messenger or any sort of god’s whatever…she simply has had a mail infunction with her DNA hence her being the way she is you idiots!
if they worship her they do! dont put people down!
not that any of you people are so speacial now are you??!
next you see a guy born with 2 penis’s doesnt mean his god!
god does not exists!!…..leave the beauty to herself!
April 11th, 2008 at 5:54 pm
You Have No Shame, I think you need to learn how to respect other;s beliefs or you just have no respect what so ever for any one. I think god should punish you..
April 11th, 2008 at 6:41 pm
i agree 100% with dave, a god… come on people! there is only one god, idolising a gift of nature is primitive! a child like that, god willing she lives to become a teenager, will already have alot of problems fitting into society, making her believe she’s a reincarnation of god will not help her situation. i wish her all the best and hope the villagers help her by treating her equal to other human beings, for at the end of the story, that is all she is.
April 11th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
incest…
April 12th, 2008 at 8:28 am
DAVE ur right.. n f@#k off LORD GANESHA.. that lil girl is not god n not gift of GANESHA.. theres only one god..
April 12th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
She’s just another human being, God maybe did not desire for her to be born like that.
But since those people are ignorant, instead of having an adequate diet for the mother they are starving by not eating meat and stuff like that because they consider animals to be “holy reincarnations”.
So the lack of necessary proteins, vitamins, etc. produced a genetical mutation thus giving the child this abnormality while her face was being formed back there inside her mother’s uterus.
I believe in God, but the consequences of our stupid choices as imperfect humans are things we must face and face them the best way possible.
And, probably those mistakes will have their consequences by ending with the lives of those poor children. They are not to be blamed for the ignorance of their parents and their country.
April 13th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Obviously there are some cruel people in america!! (Gladly she is in India where they accept people) People here say very crucial things if it was my baby i would have had it if it killed me! She’s beautiful and from her mom and dad and they love her that’s all that matters.. That’s the way god wanted it she is different so she is just like everybody else except a lil more to love.. just think if she is fine and when she gets older she could read these peoples hurtful thoughts about her that is just cold hearted… I pray that she grows up and lives a normal life and goes down in history as a great and different women… But the same at heart!!!
April 15th, 2008 at 12:43 am
To all of you out there having to say bad things about this beautiful girl have no idea what the future holds for you! she’s innocent, pure, and never asked to be born like this, every one has there own believe’s and thats why we are all different whether it’s jesus and indian gods, allah and many different gods that every one worships by there choice and culture and you all should respect that.Instead of finding ways to hurt her and her family and cause agruments why don’t you try to help and find a way to help her and her family!Everyone is equal and we all belong here! this is when we neede to stick together and help each other! But this amazing baby and family i pray that everything goes well and that she grows up to live a normal life which she is entitled to. Thank You and god bless
April 15th, 2008 at 11:12 pm

I have never seen any thing like that before i beleve she might have touch with the gods and possibly she may be a god give it time for her to grow and u are not itiots for beleving that she is a god and u where blessed with a beloved special baby girl. but it is true gods have powers and your baby dose not anyway best of wishes!!!!!
April 15th, 2008 at 11:31 pm

April 16th, 2008 at 11:29 am
harrom that’s lebanese for poor and i don’t mean money poor i mean poor girl that comment was stupid you shouldn’t critisize a girl by her looks and i think it would be cool to be worshipped like a God! God bless her and her family from Australia. Catherine a.k.a KIT KAT !!!!
April 16th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
Yeah,I agree with Dave…..She Is NOT A GOD!!!! She’s just a beautiful little gurl with a deformed face. SO WHAT??? I think it’s cute. She will grow up to be a Beautiful young women. But Seriously……U guys that think she is a god..GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF THE GUTTER…..That is the lamest thing I ever HEARD!! There is only one god and one Jesus Christ. the holy son of god. So Grow UP!!!
April 17th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Wow! I’m amazed on how humanity is being lost for some of us. Even though many of you believe your God is the only God the one thing you should think about is your faith to believe in a God, be it Jesus or Ganesha or some other being. It is in our nature as humans for us to believe in someone or something in order to give us hope. This is what has been passed down from generation to generation in every culture. Consider that faith can bring people together and religions just separates us.
April 21st, 2008 at 10:51 pm
ORLY?!1 TAHTS’ A FAKT?
April 25th, 2008 at 12:51 am
Well, in their country they beleive that there are many Gods. They are people, just like you and me. There is no reason to call someone a freak of nature.
April 28th, 2008 at 3:09 am
Hi there,
I think that the US would definately know about this…. and…I think they should spend some less money on defence and spend a little money on research and help these kinda people.
with todays technology in the medicine field, I think doctors around the world can start thinking about helping cases like this rather than trying to master the cloning and AI technology…
but, mainly what I’m trying to say is that… rather than commenting about this in a million different ways and trying to shut someone else off, all i have to say is that the US government butts into every problem there is in this world… which is a good thing… they’re offering help … but it’s mostly in the defence field.
A country like India has money… no doubt about it…more money than we can ever think…. but a major chunk of that is in corruption… and the people never see or even get what they pay their taxes for.
I think that someone… like the US or UK (who have the best health science technology in the world) should send someone there to that village and try to fix that kid… atleast something… cause the Indian government aint gonna do nothing.. for 2 reasons …1.) they have blind faith and 2.) The Indian government does not care.
I have nothing against the US or India but …. I just think that someone should either do something about this… and help… or just forget about it..
April 29th, 2008 at 2:36 am
This is quite a remarkable birth. It’s an interesting mutation, as many have stated. I doubt she’s a Hindu god. I also doubt she’s “one of God’s children,” seeing as I don’t believe God exists. Nevertheless, she’s a human being with an obvious need for medical attention. But truly a wonder of the human mutation.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
i think this little blessing is gods way of saying screw you all and he hates you india people
May 5th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Seriously, people. Stop arguing over whether or not this child is a god. Obviously, that wasn’t the point of the article. Her culture believes she is a god, end of story. No need to have a huge debate about it, just believe what you want–no one was trying to convert you to anything by writing this article. The point of the article was that this amazing abnormality occurred, and was meant to highlight the wonders and oddities of nature. Not to start a religious debate.
May 8th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
MAN THIZ IZ THE CUTEST THING I HAVE EVA SEEN THIZ BABY IZ GODZ CHILD ND WILL GROW UP TO BE A BEAUTIFUL WOMEN
June 19th, 2008 at 10:15 am
ok, first off, for you jesus freaks, f*** off and push your religion elsewhere. If you want more people to believe your crap join the jehova witnesses. You have yet to produce proof to back up your religion and rely on the almighty word called “Dogma”. You believe in your god, they believe in theirs. you have no proof your god exists, and neither do they. for all we know, god could be a fat@ss on a high chair. or there could be no god at all. And dont preach to me that “everything in the universe is too perfectly organized for there to be no god” bull****. save it for someone retarded enough to fall for circular logic.
for the people calling her a diety, dont be quick to jump the gun and consider something easily medically explained by situation as a divine being sent down to save you. I respect your religion, but this girl is a victim of circumstance. I’m overwhelmed to hear that you all accept this child and treat her with such kindness, while here in america, we usually kick these people to the curb.
Props to Arkhaz for being one of the more sensible and more intelligent poster among the entire group. Armed with knowledge of pregnancy planning, and proper nutrition facts, he was able to asses a few of the factors that could arise a genetic mutation of this caliber. I, as a medical student, have read many a condition, sharing similarities to this, some being born with almost the exact same condition that we are seeing here. This is not something new, the faster we realize this, the faster we can get over trivial comments.
all in all… this baby is beautiful in my eyes. An equal miracle of life. It is sad to say that not many with genetic mutations such as this can move on to live a full life. There is NO SURGICAL SOLUTION to this. One can only hope that her time on this earth is a peaceful one.
for future haters: i respect your opinion
for future props: i respect your opinion more.
June 20th, 2008 at 5:10 am
First to the Jesus freaks here is no god or gods. You do realize that you have rejected hundreds of thosands of gods, most that predate yours. From the gods of the Pagens to the gods of Greeks, to the gods of the hindu. Yet, after rejecting all of these other gods (odds are you never took any time to learn about them anyway) you are convinced that your, rather recent god, the the one true god. Once you figure out why you can reject all of the other gods so easily you will see why rejecting your god is easy too. I stopped playing with imaginary friends when I was 5, when do you plan to give yours up?
For any younger readers here remember what you parents told you about Santa? Gifts for good people, sound a little like another figure they told you about?
As for the girl, I guess I am the only one to say this, but who wouldn’t want to get a hummer from two female goddessess? in about 15 years you can, but with one person.
June 20th, 2008 at 8:47 am
Gift from God…IS GOD?!?
Please. This is the result of blasphemy among the infidels. It’s not a blessing, it’s the wrath of what people, (not specifically the parents) deserve. God is sending a negative message in the form of a child to remind us to head back on the right track.
June 20th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!
June 20th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
I’m surprised this many people on the internet still believe in a god.

I think that no one can argue about other people`s beliefs without fully understanding their cultural background. Acceptance is something that I thought was more spread that it seems to be, as I sadly see so many closed minds accusing the different. There are many things that we don`t know, and yet it is of human nature to categorize all that we see. I strongly hope that medical institutes and governments will not fall for the blind human curiosity and undergo experiments on her. This has been witnessed on too many cases so far. Everyone has the right to live freely without being judged. In this case, this includes not only this young child, but also the ones that gather and say she is a gift of the gods, or a god herself. I am opened to new ideas and theories, without blindly trusting; I think it is wrong to discredit people that believe in an other way. I am not trying to give them reason either, I am just saying, everyone has the right to the benefit of the doubt. What does it change in an American`s life to know that someone in another country thinks differently on the religious plan, or anything else? Why the need to judge so hastily when we don`t know about the way they think, what they learn, what they experience? It`s not that demanding on an effort to just free these discriminating minds to a state of openness is it?
May she live freely.

To all those people saying this little girl is going to be bullied; No she isn’t.
If she survives, she has the most fantastic life ahead of her. She is going to be treated as a god. She will not be going to a normal school, she will be raised by priests and priestesses, given anything she wants, and probably become a high priestess of a temple. This little girl will grow up to be the pride and joy of the hindu faith and the avatar of their beliefs.
We should envy her, perhaps.

wow. there was a documentery about this baby on channel 4 the other night. it was really sad to see the child suffer so much due to the village lifestyle of parents and their lack of trust in doctors.

Well yes Natasha unfortunately Eastern Indians do say “those Americans and those English”. And that’s the point, you make sweeping generalizations about Eastern Indians and Westerners. Of course there are closed minded people here, but are you so niave to think that India is spared? Ever heard of the caste system? And OH how about the clashes between Hindu & Muslims. You do realize I could go on and on citing many holes in your theory don’t you? So what if they want to worship her? Well for one thing, why worship a person who has done nothing but be born. Pretty strange I say. Why don’t we worship you? Because you have done nothing to merit worship. Their thinking she is a god is just misguided.

There are several posts talking about what a beautiful girl and a great blessing this is. Optimism is nice but this is a major birth defect and it’s hard to imagine that this child will ever have a normal or comfortable life. Who cares about whether or not a bunch of villagers worship her as a god? People who believe in one sort of god here are making jokes about people who believe in another sort of god somewhere else – did it ever occur to anyone that the whole idea of gods and devils and ghosts might be just a bunch of regional fairy tales, so they’re ALL silly?

To the dear people who have, torn their hearts out over this wonderful child, Thank you, with people who care this much, i know the overall views of narrowminded people has been reduced.
This baby,[because it IS one child], has a hard life ahead of her, and i am truly glad she has a community that will love her, despite the differences in her image(some people would call this a mutation, i call it an ‘esqusite characteristic’) So What if this child would not grow up to look like us? and So What if she is respected as a god, i would think she deserves that much!
I am not saying that i agree with what her culture offers ([her being a god]) but i respect people’s beliefs and customs enough to say that i accept her as a HUMAN who needs sympathy[i dont belive anyone can give her empathy, she is truly one of a kind]….so once again, thank you for all your concern, and please be kind. every one is different, and every one can not account for their actions ([ or their Looks, or their Beliefs])
- LOVE

joan….the population difference. Since India has such a large population there is a larger chance that the unique children will be born their. Not coincidence, statistics

i feel sorry for the babys’ but at least no one is making fun ot them huh?

to “DAVE”,
these people believe in their religion and according to their religion they would like to think that this baby is a reincarnation of God.
You think this baby is a freak of nature??
What about the woman in the USA who had 14 kids at once, was she a freak of nature?? I guess not because according to you “Dave” she’s from a first world country..people flock to her home every day to see her 14 kids..
This is one of the reasons why this world can never be a fair place because someone is always saying something to discriminate another person’s belief.
you just proved how even people living in a first world country can be foolish..

poor child i can’t imagine thepain she goes through.
August 28th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
It’s really difficult when there are issues of poverty, lifestyle, culture and traditions that would compel them to do this type of human-worship and not do something about the child’s disabliity. I just hope the child would grow up healthy and happily nurtured.
