Aussies Iron Their Clothes Underwater

For real. This is not another April Fool. Seventy-Two Australians strapped on SCUBA gear, jumped in the water with ironing boards, and proceeded to do their household duties while under the surface of the sea.

This appears to be part of a new event called--wait for it-- extreme ironing. The participants get their kicks by combining the thrill of pursuing difficult-to-reach locales with the apparent rush of pressing their laundry. As further proof that I'm not making this up on April Fool's day, I present a picture:

And, in addition to that bit of awesome, I also have their website: www.extremeironing.com. The site serves as a forum for practitioners of the sport(?), and offers nearly 1300 "action shots" of ironing in exotic locales. The group claims 1,000 members worldwide, and even hosts a world championship annually, with the most recent having been near Munich, with the British dominating and taking both the team gold and team bronze. I can't make this stuff up.
