Giant Baby

Unless the fe-fi-fo-fum giant from Jack and the Beanstalk has dropped the baby, this image is somewhat bizarre. Any guesses where it is and why it’s lying on the ground?

This week, and for one week only, our buddies over at Neatorama will donate a free T-shirt from their online shop to the person who has answered correctly or given the next best repsonse.

All you have to do is drop a guess in the comments section below, along with your name and email. We’ll then contact you if you win (email addresses will not be published). Enjoy!

‘Big Up’ to last week’s winner

Well, it seems that there’s a clear winner for last week’s image competition; congratualtions to Dr Jeri dei Lunici, who gave a very detailed account of the images, their background and the Chernobyl disaster. Cheers and thanks for answering Jeri.

Linda is a writer and editor, currently based in London. Growing up in N Ireland, she craved sunnier climes so set off around the world, forever chasing the sun. On her travels she discovered she was much more passionate about the environment than she realised – although never quite got the whole tree-hugging thing – and has always had a penchant for the unconventional and creative side of life, so working at Environmental Graffiti suits her just fine.

This is a sculpture by the artist marc quinn, I think it was called Planet and It was at Chatsworth House (house in the background) there where a number of other sculptures there as well it was all part of the Beyond Limits exhibition which has been going for a few years. They often have some striking and famous work (Damien Hirst has been there and Anthony Gormley)

Yeah, Tom got there before me - it’s at Chatsworth, 6 tonnes of bronze that had to be lifted over the hedge by a specially hired crane. It’s balanced only on the baby’s hand, via a huge steel rod running from the ground up the hand and arm into the shoulder of the baby.
