Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be many more eco cars released this year another one pops on to the market. This time it’s the turn of renowned Spanish car company SEAT; they’ve just introduced the sleek and slender Seat Brisa.
![]()
Completely solar-powered, the two-seater, three-wheeler is propelled by solar charged nano-fotovoltaic cells which are located in the vehicle’s translucent elastomere shell, the power generated runs a motor mounted on the rear wheel.

Created by very talented Miguel Ángel Iranzo Sánchez in just one weekend, the Brisa (which means breeze in Spanish) is inspired by the flamboyant moves of flamenco and a love of the sea – how very Mediterranean.
Miguel wanted to convey the lightness of a breeze while maintaining a harmony with nature so used a translucent material for the bodywork, incorporating lots of curves and wood, too.

When it’s in full flow the slinky Brisa is said to sail over the ground like a sailing boat but it’s best saved for sunny days as, not only is it completely solar-powered but there’s no roof/soft top to protect from the elements. Oh well, just don good old-fashioned goggles and a scarf, and enjoy!

While I applaud the ingenuity to create a car powered solely by solar power, I have to say, God is it ugly!
I’m not surprised at all to read that Sanchez built it in just one weekend. Sorry, but it looks like a converted wheelbarrow.
That said, I do like the idea of using the body as one enormous solar panel. Though of course, that would mean a tiny car smash could lead to enormous repair bills if the solar cells needed replacing.
A good idea, poor execution. I can’t help but picture it filled with bricks on a building site. Sorry, Mr. Sanchez!

Nice car! Shame theres no information on how long it lasts with sunlight and what sort of sunlight you need to run it. If it runs even when theres a cloudy sky then the market would be huge for this sort of vehicle. however, if it needs direct strong sunlight only, then I guess the only markets are going to be those areas which get strong sunlight through most of the year.

that is very futuristic…the design are cool and it seems to be naive as well.

I don’t want to take up your time because time is money. I am retired from Chrysler LLC; I worked there for thirty five years. When the car sales were going down every body was afraid of losing there jobs now the world is down but when economy gets better then every body is happy again. The money will flow like water now the water is dry up so how can anybody sail on water or land if it is all dried up. People haft to start crying to get the water flowing around the world again that means new ideals from enybody starts the flow up runing again. Big Ceo’s have the power and the money but they don’t have grate ideals people do.I tried to get the top heads of Chrysler they said we already are working on there new concepts but the United State Paton Office in Washington D.C. gave two patons on economy vehicles that is hard to do. I invent future types of all different kinds of the market is looking for. I have different style come of nation of Unitmotorcycle it will blow your mind a way. I invent so I can sale to the company that wants to buy not just a company the right company that has the world in mind not the Big Ceo’s.You make the machine for the person not the person for the machine that makes the world a happy invirement for all. Thank You for your time Vennis.

As you’ve said yourself, too many eco cars have been released lately. That is indeed a good thing. The problem however is that the current infrastructure of almost every country in the world isn’t ready for them. Before releasing so many green cars, the governments should have invested in making a suitable infrastructre for these.

If your are going to design a car like this, solar power and for the water, why do it so ugly??. I think the idea is great, but the design bad bad bad.
