Wanted to highlight this point that Holi and Rang Panchami are 2 different events.
Holi, as correctly pointed out is on the 1st full moon night of Spring.
The next day of holi is the event called 'Dulendi' - the day on which the colors are in full force..
'Rang Panchami' is the 5th day after the full moon. the word 'Panchami' stands for 5th;
Rang Panchami is the 5th day after the full moon and it fell on 15th Mar in 2009. This is also a day that given an opportunity for those who missed the color fest on the first day, could go out and celebrate the color madness on the 5th day. :>
