Hi,

Just to say, that the center photo with the carpet of moss does was not taken on Gankunjima. It came from an hotel which as been torn down 2 or 3 year ago.

The island is now opn but not the intesting part, the town. The part you can see now is the place where stand the industrial part almost complety dismanteled after the closing of the island. Almost all buildings has disapeared in this area.

Wow. This is quite fascinating. They could easily use this island as a set for future movies or documentaries. Plus, this gives me flashbacks from watching the Japanese gore-fest "Battle Royale" where students were taken to an island to fight to the death!

Environmentally, I wonder if there are any reports or data regarding if any species of birds, small mammals or insects have taken up residence on this island?
