This is How Environmental Graffiti is About to Shift Gear

By Chris Ingham Brooke, Chief Graffiti Artist

Over the last two years, we have built one of the most successful environmental blogs on the internet, based on the premise that we could give you the most interesting stories that weren’t preachy and were fun to read. However, what you may not know is that the vision behind Environmental Graffiti was always to give you a platform; a voice to share the most fascinating experiences from all over the globe. If you haven't already signed up for the Beta, make sure you do because I have some exciting news for you…

Next week we’re completely re-launching. Our new platform will not just be a blog, but a magazine created by you. You’ll be able to write on the site, share experience and earn revenue from your articles.

What do you think? Here are some of the features and a few screenshots...

The new front page is where all the best articles get voted up. You’ll become the site’s editors.

My Graffiti is your personal dashboard. Here you can quickly reach your profile, articles you’ve written, feedback from editors, and check how much revenue you’ve made – as well as follow articles and comments from other writers you enjoy.

Your profile is where people can find out more about you, as well as Graffiti your wall and view your recent activity.

Write is where your articles are born. You can create content here, and it is then edited and published on the site.

So, what do you guys think?

If you want to find out all the latest news on the environment, why not subscribe to our RSS feed? We’ll even throw in a free album.

Yes, you will be able to choose under what licence your work is published and, if you want, retain copyright. Thanks, and we hope to see some of your writing soon!

Some websites are worse than us and
some are better in terms of followers.

Some websites even have a way to get
a newsletter out to their followers.
Some websites will allow for one to
sign up for a newsletter based on
topics they check/click by category.
That way if someone wants updates on animals,
they don't get info on fossil fuels,
and alternative energy. Other websites,
(if they are environmental) have chosen
one feature article (by the editor)
to be sent in the headline/ reference line
or subject line in the e:mail to that
subscriber, and that has the article
of the day, with other links to articles
written that day.

Currently the only way to get a follower
here, is to have another author click on
follow. My friends can't follow, NOR can
anyone else that clicks on my articles
unless they are writers here. No offense
but I do not need followers here, I NEED
other followers from the general public
so that I may obtain a fan base with more
clicks or page views. If other writers
are the only ones following EACH OTHER,
that does not introduce anyone new to
the system.

Hi Chris,
I am new to EG(only 21 days old)and I liked the way it works. Except the part, where general public can't follow you. I have a gr8 circle of friends. They do read EG obviously. But they can't follow me.

Do they have to be the part of EG?

Good Day
