		<description>Was this is in the Philippines? I&#039;m from the Philippines and this looks like something they&#039;d do in the more rural municipalities. There&#039;s another ritual where they actually crucify a man during Holy Week. The guy usually only last 5 minutes but that&#039;s gotta hurt.

I&#039;ve also seen a ritual in Indonesia where they whip their own backs with some kind of plant as an offering for a good harvest.</description>
