So which ones are illegal to buy? I’m guessing the only legal ones are the Python and Tigers.

Macaws are legal in the USA, and breed often enough in captivity, though the Hyacinth species pictured above is harder to obtain.

White tigers are bred by mating sons with mothers and fathers with daughters. Most are severely retarded with numerous birth defects. I find it appalling to believe that an environmental news blog, clearly with some sort of ethical standards, would indirectly advocate that sort of breeding simply to make expensive and exotic pets.
