I think it is important to bear in mind, that flying in food makes 0.1% of Britain's CO2 emissions (International Institute for Environment and Development). Therefore, in order to tackle climate change we need to face our mobility, buildings and consumption. We rather should have a look in our own backyard before taking measures that have a small impact on the climate, but a big one on local farmer cooperatives in developing countries! Nonetheless, local food production becomes ever more important, taking into account the growing population in developing countries and therefore the constraint on arable land and ecosystems.
