GM crops are not the way forward and to have a minister in charge of India's Agricultural Policy say that it is suggests that he is, like most government agricultural ministers, overly concerned with the profits of agribusiness corporations.

Even the World Bank has admitted that if Food Security is the issue that small family owned farms are the way forward.

Additionally work on permaculture, biointensive methods and mycology have shown that large increases in productivity are possible.

Work by Paul Stamets has shown that when seeds are dipped in mushroom spores root growth, plant resiliency in times of drought, pest resistance and yields improve dramatically.

Terra Preta research has shown that soil fertility can be maintained even when fallow periods are eliminated by the addition of char to the soil.

Work in Cuba has shown that cities can produce a large percentage of their foods needs internally.

Maybe we should ask this guy to empty out his pockets or something?
