@starwulf

Actually there have been studies done on geothermal energy and they are quite easy to find if you care to look. The most accessible of these articles would be in popular science magazines.

The bottom line is that geothermal is actually the least invasive energy source - on a par with solar.

Geothermal energy is all well and good but, has anyone stopped to think about its impact on our planet. Yes, impact. If geothermal is pushed, as proposed to more of a forefront in energy supply / production, how will it impact the Earths core? With Thousands or even Hundreds of sites around the planet pulling heat from the Earths core, how will it effect the Earth. Will we be pulling too much heat? Will it cause the poles to shift more often? Could it effect weather patterns? What impact will it have? Has anyone ever asked these questions? If they had, they would have posted a study by now I'm sure, but I haven't seen one.

Like Hydrogen, its a nice idea, but I wont ever work on a large scale.
