Think about the following aspects of climate change, and decide which ones civilization could survive:
* Rain coming at the wrong time or in the wrong amounts during the growing season, leading to widespread crop failures.
* Invasive pests spreading
* Resource wars over water shortages (this was part of the problem in Darfur)
* Vast areas of forest burning (California right now, the 14 million acres of dead trees in Canada and the US)
* Vast areas of forest dying (it is possible that Canada will lose its entire Boreal forest due to the Pine Beetle, which has gained an edge on the trees due to shorter, warmer winters)

Anyone looking for an exact 'tipping point of no return' after which civilization will collapse or a massive die-off will begin - will be disappointed. It is impossible to predict what sequence of events will lead to a collapse.

"We cannot survive significant climate change."

That's just plain misleading. You have to define 'significant'.
